About the Song
A reflection on the first several months of COVID19 lockdown and restrictions, Glenn Thomas’ new single “Hail Mary‘s” asks what can one do when loved ones and normalcy are out of reach. The acoustic guitar and cello driven songs features Thomas’ heartfelt vocal looking for hope in dark times.
About his inspiration for the song, Glenn says, “I wrote ‘Hail Mary‘s’ thinking of all the ways people are struggling right now. Whether you are praying, hoping, or just looking to the future — its about knowing that it is going to take time, but we will get through.” The stripped down song, recorded in Nashville, features Thomas on guitar and vocals, and Austin Hoke on cello (Dolly Parton, Kesha).

Glenn Thomas writes songs that cut straight to his truths. By putting his life and the human condition under the microscope, Glenn’s songs articulately observe the big questions with small details. Raised in a small New England town, Glenn writes with careful attention to his understanding of himself and the seasonality of life.
Currently based in Nashville, Glenn’s songs have been praised by press and songwriting veterans alike and have led him to perform across the country with national acts such as Langhorne Slim, The Barr Brothers, Blitzen Trapper, Eve6, Watsky, Rubblebucket, and many others. His debut LP Reassure Me There's A Window was released on May 15, 2020 via Palace Flophouse Records to praise from Billboard, PopMatters, Bluegrass Situation and more. On August 7th, 2020 Glenn released a cover of The Grateful Dead’s “Black Muddy River,” that has been featured on SiriusXM. He performed in the large virtual Tom Petty Tribute “Know What’s Right,” in November and was one of a handful of artists selected to perform at the 2020 Global Kindfest, alongside Billy Bragg and Frank Turner.
